Re: GREENo to return
RANDOLPH was certainly busy .our defence as a corporate entity was non existent.

A goalkeeper is ultimately responsible for all goals scored against us.and that's where the modern day role of a goal defender originates.
He needs to organize his defence from a positional and tactical concept .

The young man did himself proud as an individual and was one of several other individuals who should all know better than him that a defender is one in a corporate system.

I gave him 6.5 for his performance today .

Re: Greeno to return
Look quite commanding most of the time.

One slight slip up at the end but made some saves.

The sky is not falling, at least in that corner of the pitch/

Re: Greeno to return
Randolph probably our best player today. Made some very good saves. Couldn't blame him for any of the goals.

They wanted 1 mill for Bentley when the window was opened

Re: Greeno to return
Window isn't closed, so if Southend's Bently is as good as he's hyped up to be surely the club should take punt?

How much are they going to want for him? His wages surely won't be astronomical in terms of what he'd accept.

Re: Greeno to return
It looks like RANDOLPH in goal then .

Re: Greeno to return
RANDOPH is nearly 30 years of age.and yet he shows no leadership ability.or composure.
GREENo is unpredictable and a poor communicated.is not a leader.
He is a great shotstopper
And a really nice bloke
He doesn't bring confidence to his fellow defenders .

We should have got Guzan and Bentley or Zeleneka when we could.

Who will we get it will hopefully now be GREENo or one of the other 3 that we have been looking at.

What I don't get is that we protected near on 18 first team players for one PL game when you only need 16 - and in so doing threw away a golden chance for a proper Europa campaign.

And now we risk more PL points because we don't have enough strikers, a decent goalkeeper and have loaned out two of our best kids.

Not fed up but just don't get it.

Not sure if you noticed but we had 1 goalkeeper and 5 strikers
Not really that surprising that we're signing a keeper and not a striker

The beard has been gone for a while.

I don't know if he is any good, but i'm certainly not going to make m mind up on a couple of displays where he hardly saw the ball.

David L 6:26 Fri Aug 21
Re: Greeno to return
He was pretty poor against the waiters and postmen. One cross in particular he came flying out and missed the ball by about 10 yards. Then he somehow missed the flight of another cross completely and had to tip it over the bar at the last second.

Not a confident start by anyone's standards. Perhaps he needs to get rid of that ridiculous beard.

Re: Greeno to return
Maybe people are just waiting to see him play before making a judgement, PD?

Not sure how that's going against any grain really.

I don't think there is a 'don't dare to criticise' crowd (maybe one or two idiots).

Don't confuse them with the 'give the bloke a fecking chance and at least watch him play behind a decent defence' crowd.

Re: Greeno to return
Of course he isn't PL standard, but some like to go against the grain.
